Emmanuel Hosts Talk about Colonialism and Environmentalism in Canada

On December 2, 2021, the Centre for Religion and Its Contexts hosted a conversation between the Rev. Murray Pruden, national executive minister, Indigenous Ministries and Justice, The United Church of Canada, and Matthew Dougherty, assistant professor, teaching stream at Emmanuel College. Pruden and Dougherty explored the intertwined issues of colonialism and environmentalism in Canada. Using Dougherty's new research into Ontario's history as a starting point, they offered their perspectives on how we came to our present environmental crisis, and where we go from here.
