Electric Vehicle Charging Stations Administrative Policy, Victoria University in the University of Toronto

We are pleased to announce that electric vehicle charging stations are now available on our campus! This reflects our commitment and contribution to a greener and more environmentally sustainable campus. The stations are located in the Rowell Jackman parking garage and are available to monthly pass holders who are authorized to park in the garage.

To charge your car:

Guidelines:

Only charging electric vehicles are permitted to be parked in those spots and the stations are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Non-compliant vehicles will be subject to a City of Toronto parking violation ticket and towed at the owners’ expense.

Vehicles:

  • must be certified electric
  • can charge for up to a maximum of four hours (as per the City of Toronto By-Law for EV charging stations)
  • must be actively charging while using the space
  • must relocate to a regular parking spot after charging to accommodate other
  • vehicles waiting to use the EV stations charger

Vehicle drivers:

  • must display a valid Victoria University Rowell Jackman parking permit while using the stations
  • are responsible for monitoring their four-hour charging duration
  • can set up notifications from the Flo App advising when vehicles are fully charged

For general questions or concerns, please contact FLO directly, and for equipment issues, please contact our Front Desk at 416-585-4524.

Charging Fees

  • $2 per hour
  • vehicles must be removed after four hours! We anticipate high demand for charging stations so please be considerate and move your car after four hours. There will be a penalty of $3 per hour after the four-hour limit

The charging stations are a result of a collaboration with Victoria University Parking Services and the Department of Infrastructure and Sustainability, reflect input from the Victoria University Sustainability Committee, and are supported by the Sustainability Fund from the Office of the Bursar. Our provider of charging stations is FLO, which manufactured the equipment.
