The current term of Lisa Sherlock as Chief Librarian of Victoria University comes to an end on 31 December 2018. In accordance with the by-laws of the Board of Regents of Victoria University, the President has asked Pearce Carefoote, Interim Head of the Department of Rare Books and Special Collections at the Thomas Fisher Rare Book Library, and Shelley Hawrychuck, Chief Librarian of the UTM Library, to conduct a review of the office.

The review is intended to advise the President on the overall effectiveness and health of the Office of the Chief Librarian in its various functions, to assess the initiatives that have been developed during the Chief Librarian’s term of office, and to identify major opportunities and challenges facing the Library for the next five years.


Particular areas that the Reviewers may consider include:


The Reviewers will be consulting widely with the Victoria University community. They will visit the campus in July and September, meeting with members of the community and other stakeholders.
