Since 1836, Victoria University has graduated over 40,000 students and members of its alumni community are located throughout the world. Included amongst Victoria’s graduates are literary critic and scholar Northrop Frye, Nobel laureate and prime minister Lester B. Pearson, pioneering doctor Augusta Stowe-Gullen, Nobel laureate and co-inventor of the laser Arthur Schawlow, authors and artists Margaret Atwood, John Bemrose and David Gilmour, Robert Bateman, Dennis Lee, Donald Sutherland and Norman Jewison.
