RE: Speaking Up: The Faculty and Staff Experience Survey 2010
The Speaking Up survey is your chance to give us your opinion of how our universities are doing as employers and what can be done to enhance your work experience.
This survey is a joint initiative of the University of St. Michael’s College, Trinity College, and Victoria University, partnering with the University of Toronto, to launch the first ever faculty and staff engagement survey for the federated universities. To better understand everyone’s perceptions, the survey contains a common set of core questions asked of all faculty, staff and librarians. Data collected this year will be used as a baseline for future surveys to monitor the universities’ progress over time.
The information and feedback you provide will help to set institutional priorities –priorities that will identify and reinforce our areas of strength, as well as help us work to improve those areas where difficulties are identified.
Your participation in this survey is voluntary – but it is vital to ensuring that we receive an accurate reflection of what it is like to work at our universities. By sharing your experience, you can directly contribute to enhancing your work experience, and assist the universities to become better places to work.
The overall results for each university will be provided in as open and transparent a manner as possible – both the positive and the negative. No information will be reported where any identification of individuals could occur. A number of measures have been designed to ensure the confidentiality of the information returned and to provide anonymity of survey respondents.
The survey should take less than 30 minutes to complete. If you are in a busy area and would like a more private place to fill out the survey, speak to your manager – he or she will arrange for somewhere more private and provide the time for you to complete the survey.
Thank you very much for participating in this important survey. We appreciate the time you take to share your experience and we value your input.
